Wow. It’s already February, I mean…can you believe that?!
If you didn’t know already then I’m currently in Hong Kong and right now we’re celebrating Chinese New Year. (Yay for three days off work!) Although, when I say I’m “celebrating” I kind of mean I’ve spent the last three nights on an absolute sesh train and spent the next days lying in bed binge watching Netflix and wishing I was going on a hike or watching a Lion Dance somewhere instead. But y’know, swings and roundabouts and all that.
ANYWAY, as it’s technically new year for me then what better way to spend my time than create a travel bucket list for this year?
Being in Hong Kong means I’m so close to lots of different places in South East Asia so I’d love to make it my mission to visit a few this year. This list is more of a “potential options” kind of list, rather than a “YOU MUST VISIT ALL OF THESE PLACES IN A YEAR” kind of list.
I’m constantly in an insta-haze where I’m scrolling photo’s of beaches and sunsets and my mind is screaming oh-my-gOD I NEED TO BE THERE RIGHT NOW. So there’s also that.
Shock. The list starts with Bali. Oh how stereotypically blogger of me. But, but,…BALI.
Every time I have researched into Bali (mainly stalking blogs or youtube videos) it just overwhelms me and really draws me in. Places like Seminyak and Ubud seem complete opposites, but both somewhere I would love to visit. I want to swing on the Bali swing, jump into waterfalls, visit the monkey forest, eat fresh berries for breakfast and swim in my own private pool overlooking the beautiful beach. You totally know the drill.
Okay so Malaysia is a place I’d never really thought of until I was searching Skyscanner for some cheap flights. The more I looked into Malaysia, the more it appealed so dreamy to me. I found an amazing resort that is BASICALLY a mini Maldives and GIRL I need to get my ass over there, pronto.
I don’t know much about the Philippines other than it’s so god damn beautiful. Before visiting, I would really have to look into it more to choose the right place to go because right now my knowledge is zero. However, I’ve heard so many amazing stories so it’s definitely up there on my bucket list for sure! There seems to be so many insane islands and beaches and wow I think I need to go. Not even lying.
EEEEK I’m so god damn excited about this one! Thailand is a REAL dream of mine. As I love Hong Kong so much I genuinely think I would feel the same about Thailand too. I feel like I could really connect with its mixture of city hustle and beach babe-ness. I will probably save Thailand for a trip where I can really spend a lot of time there as it would be amazing to explore as much as possible.
My boyfriend just recently took a trip to Vietnam with his friends and they seemed to LOVE it. It’s kind of made me a little hashtag JEL so I whacked Vietnam on my bucket list too. Ya gal can’t miss out you know. I would love to go and experience the Vietnamese food and nightlife because it sounds guuuurd.
So there’s my 2019 Travel Bucket List! I’m also squeezing a few trips back home of course (England) so this is going to be one busy year, and I just can’t wait.
If you’ve been to any of these places then please let me know in the comments below how you found it. I want to hear all about your trips!
