You've been click baited.

Okay no LOL SORRY BABES, not really.

The other day, Luke (my boyfriend) made the joke / fact that me being a Catfish got me to Australia. He fell for my online looks (lol) and brought me to the other side of the world. He always teases me about how I look nothing like my photo's. (ha...*cries*) But he loves me all the same, so n'aw, that's cute.

But, GUUUURL, I'm a Photography Graduate. What do you expect?

A quote I always remember from one of my Uni lecturers is "If there's one thing you learn from this course, it's that Photography is a lie."

Very true hun, very true.

I'm all about those cute filters, VSCO cam and y'know, blemish fix ups.

I'm still trying to find my feet in Australia, but I'm loving this crazy adventure all the same.

But anyways, this whole Catfish thing got me thinking. WHAT ACTUALLY IS A CATFISH?
I mean, I know what it is. But aren't we all cat-fishing each other? 99% of people only post photo's they feel and look good in. Ain't nobody got time for those accidental double chin snapchat beauties. If you know, you know.

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS. There's nothing wrong with only posting your highlights and best parts. We all know people do it, so it's not like we can kid anyone. But, is this catfishing? Technically no, but it's definitely a term that's getting thrown left right and centre these days.

Oh I don't know, I feel like I'm rambling.

But also, RIP me for doing this...but OH MY SJFCNSIJFDN LOOK AT WHAT I DID THE OTHER DAY.

I'm posting this to show just what angles, lighting, editing, and lord knows what else, can do!

And it can do bloody wonders! (!!)

The fact my boyfriend thought he was getting that (photo on the right) but actually gets THIS every god damn morning (photo on the left) is just hilarious. But they're both ME. So, to hell with it!

Catfish or not, we can all find love!

Although if you're actually a REAL LIFE BAD CATFISH then see ya later.
You're kinda weird.

Why not go and find love on these fab dating sites?

Find someone who loves you no matter what you look like in the morning!

Then they're definitely a keeper.

  1. I've never really thought about how our culture of editing photos and ensuring correct angles etc is almost like catfishing, it's so interesting. Hope you're having a good time down under.
