Blogging Tips For Beginners

I've been blogging for a year now, and although I'm still nowhere near the place I want to be within the blogging world...I've definitely learnt a few tricks and tips here and there.

So grab your notebooks ladies and gents, I'm going to give you the best god damn tips that you EVER DID SEE.

JOIN TWITTER CHATS
First of all, Twitter Chats are one of the most AMAZING things for bloggers. It allows you to connect with so many bloggers from around the world. Getting involved in the blogging community makes such a big impact on your blog. The blogging community is so supportive of each other, so encouraging and just all round FABULOUS people.

Here is a super helpful schedule made by the lovely @bellamomentoX

BE CONSISTENT
With blogging, consistency is key. Now, believe me, this is much easier said than done. Creating content, scheduling posts, publishing posts, staying active on social media, taking photographs, taking videos AND balancing in the rest of life's asks...is extremely difficult. But it's so so worth it. When it comes to blogging, you really do get what you put in. If you put in the hard work, the results will be noticeable (and great)!

SYNC ALL OF YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
Social media plays a large role in the life of blogging. In my opinion, there's nothing worse than seeing a blogger with a different name for each different social media account. If you sync all of your accounts, you and the brand you have created for yourself will be much more recognisable, relatable, and much easier to find!

JOIN FACEBOOK BLOGGING GROUPS
Facebook has so many different groups and pages for bloggers. My favourite one is UK Blogger Opportunities. It is filled with amazing opportunities and is really accessible. I've managed to work with quite a few brands by finding them through that group. If you're like me and from Yorkshire, then this Yorkshire Bloggers group will be fab for you too! They post about a lot of events that are going on in the area which is always really good fun. The best thing to do is just get ya stalk on and search for different blogging groups and GET JOINING THEM. You'll thank me later.

GO TO EVENTS
Going to blogging events is a really good way to meet new people, connect with different brands and have a FLIPPIN' GOOD TIME. It took me a while to pluck up the courage to go to a blogging event, but I finally did the other week. I went to the launch night of a new restaurant, and I had so much fun that I had no idea why I hadn't gone to one before!

When I first started blogging I had no idea how people got to work with brands, get sent products to review, or get the honour to create sponsored posts. So I took it on myself to email brands first. Reaching out is such a good way to get yourself known. Pitch yourself in the email, send them all of your links, tell them that you'd love to write for them...and they might just say yes! The worst that can happen is that they ignore your email, so PFFFFT on them. *sassy hair flick*

TELL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ABOUT YOUR BLOG
Now this tip is one that quite a lot of bloggers struggle with. Often people like to keep it on the down low, or are too scared to tell the people they know. This is totally okay and understandable, but from my personal experience...telling people about your blog is one of the best things you can do! PEOPLE ACTUALLY READ IT. AND TALK TO YOU ABOUT IT. AND...LIKE IT! (!!!!)
It's a massive relief to know that the people you care about enjoy reading your blog, and they're so supportive too! I really recommend getting your blog out there. There's nothing to be ashamed of, DO YOU and be proud!

Do you have any more blogging tips for beginners that I might have forgotten about? Let me know in the comments!

  3. Telling people about your blog is something, it has worked for me. I made my first income as a blogger helping a friend setup his own blog through a recommendation from a friend.

  6. When I first started blogging, I was too afraid to put myself out there because I kept overthinking a lot, which I realized was a waste of time and energy on myself. I realized it's okay if people don't love what I'm doing or love what I'm writing. After, breaking out of my bubble - twitter chats and collaborating with other bloggers has been the best thing of my blogging experience and I still have lots to learn but, I love celebrating the small stuff.

    Much love,
    Stacey
