7 Travel Essentials for long journeys

Oh hey guys. How are you?

I'm feeling GOOD. I'm finally feeling like I have my blogging mojo back, and I'm currently deciding on a new blogging schedule which will make sure I'm posting a lot more regularly!

Today I'm bringing you 7 Travel Essentials for those loooooong journeys. Because y'know, MAN'S GOTTA BE PREPARED 'N' ALL THAT.

Oh I do love a good list. Are you even a real blogger if you don't post a listicle at least once a week?

The fabulous Gracie Saunderson reached out to my on insta, and then sent me this super cute and handy makeup bag! All of these bags are handmade by Gracie herself, and each and every one is a unique (and gorgeous!) design. I chose her latest designed bag called 'Blossom' which can be seen photographed. If you would like to have a nosey, or get your hands on one of these adorable makeup bags then click here.

Receiving this bag reminded me that I'd needed a little makeup bag that would fit into another bag for journeys - and that's where the idea of this post came from. So without further ado, here is 7 Travel Essentials for those long journeys!

1) Earplugs.

Sitting on a long bus ride or car journey is an absolute nightmare come to life without earplugs. Make a groovy playlist whilst you're at it, it makes time go 10x faster.

2) A camera!

This might be my inner Photography student coming back to life...but seriously, taking a camera everywhere you go is such a good idea because you NEVER know what you might see, or who you might bump into. Like...what if your fave celeb is just round the corner. Gotta get those celeb selfies ready for your new profile pic.

3) An umbrella.

The amount of times I have to run for the train in the sodding rain is a complete joke. I NEVER have my umbrella, OR a hood. So...note to self, a-l-w-a-y-s carry an umbrella.

4) A lipstick.

I usually eat about 2 bags of monster munch, a southern fried chicken wrap and drink a can of redbull on train journeys (lolz) so topping up my lipstick after stuffing my face is always an excellent idea.

5) Extra change.

Having emergency cash on you is like, life's golden rule. Honestly, that kinda advice is in the life-Bible.

6) A book / magazine.

Keep yourself entertained (or just look totally sophisticated)...either way, a book is always a good shout.

7) A phone charger!

A lot of buses, cars and trains have charging ports now. So instead of having heart palpitations when your phone is on 5%, just whack out ya charger and sit back whilst ya phone gets some of that...well, charger goodness.

So that's my 7 Travel Essentials for long journeys.

Do you have any more tips and tricks up your sleeve?

Meet my August Advertisers

Hello lovelies!

HOW is it August already?! I swear two seconds ago I was crying into my glass of prosecco to start off the new year of 2017. AND LOOK AT ME NOW.

We started off this month celebrating Yorkshire day which was the perfect excuse to stuff our faces with yorkshire puddings smothered in gravy. (ugh, perfection.)

But not only that...this is my FIRST month of advertising!

I'm super excited to offer advertising packages to my followers and readers for as little as £2 a month!

So, without further adieu, meet my August advertisers!

Meet Danielle, a nurse, blogger, AND youtuber over at her blog here

Her lil' blog bio is worth a read:

'Hi Lovelies! I'm Danielle; nurse, blogger, youtuber, planner and organisation freak. I share little snippets of my weird and wonderful life in the North West in my little corner of the internet and I hope you'll read along with me!'

Her blog is super cute and worth checking out. So go and pop over, say hi, and give this lovely gal a follow!

Meet Vicky from the beauty blog Vixella Beauty. You can find her here.

Her blogging bio is:

'Hello and welcome to Vixella Beauty, I am Vicky from the north east of Scotland. Vixella Beauty is my little space on the internet sharing with you all the things i love to talk about like product reviews, hauls and my life. If you enjoy my blog please do stay a while and come and say hello!'

If you love all things beauty and makeup then you have to go and check this blog out!

Meet Katie, a computing, IT & design expert, AND blogger over at her blog Beauty Pie Keiti here

'My name is katie, i'm 19 and i live in a small town called shrewsbury.'

Katie is absolutely adorable and really deserves a follow so go and give her blog and social media accounts a read!

Meet Leah, a part time blogger from Brighton over at Simple Leah here.

Her bio explains a bit about herself:

'I'm Leah, 22yo, newbie blogger, doggie lover and Insta addict!
I live near Brighton in Sussex and have done all my life. - I just love it here! I still live with my parents, but longing to move out. I have been known to sit and drool over my laptop scrolling through my Pinterest boards in envy thinking to myself that one day I will build my dream and have a lovely house and lots of dogs! ~ I can only dream ay!
Anyway I hope you enjoy reading about things I get up to and snippets of my life on this blog. I am going to aim it around lifestyle, beauty and maybe a little bit of fashion too!'

Go and give her a follow, go go go!

Meet Taiba, a student, lifestyle blogger, and activist over at her blog here

 Her bio reads:

'Jorlaska is a student lifestyle blog written by Taiba, a 19 year old student.Started in September 2015, as a way of expressing the inner creativity and the underlying turmoil of the society we live, Jorlaska has grown to include controversy, bibliophilic and inspiring content. An inspiring literature student, I am passionate about exploring the hidden secrets of the world (maybe I’ll be able to finally find the wardrobe to narnia). You can occasionally find me in the small corner of a book shop, a book in one hand and coffee in the other. Based in Bradford, England.'
Taiba is worth every follow and she's super active on social media too- so go and check her out!

So that's my list of August Advertisers. I couldn't have asked for a lovelier bunch of girls to promote this month as my first time advertising so I'm very pleased they could join me!
Have a lovely month and enjoy every minute of it.

Dating Series: savage comebacks to the chat up lines from hell

Here we have it, another dating post!

I know you guys love a good article about dates, romance, relationships and how could I resist taking you under my wing and showing you 10 savage comebacks to the chat up lines from hell?

No worries sister, thank me later.

Now I'm not sure about you but chat up lines make me cringe so hard that they make me want to do a backward roll into a deep and dark hole down to the middle of the Earth.

Just nope. A big fat NOPE.

So instead of breaking your neck because of said backward roll, here's some ideas to release your inner sassy independent mojo. (I KNOW IT'S IN THERE.)

1) "Feel my shirt. That's boyfriend material."

Nah, it's a little too clingy for me.

2) "I just googled sexy and a picture of you came up."

You'll get the same result if you google 'not interested' too.

3) "Are those space pants? Because your arse is out of this world!"

No actually. They're prison pants. So can you excuse me whilst I make my escape.

4) "If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?"

If I said you had a beautiful bum, would you turn and walk away?

5) "Are you a parking ticket? Because you've got fine written all over you."

No...but you must be a traffic warden because I'm seriously trying to avoid you.

6) "I feel like a library card because I've been checking you out!"

Well I'm a best seller...currently unavailable.

7) "You look a lot like my next girlfriend..."

Wow, you look a lot like the guy I turn down two seconds from now.

8) "If I could change the alphabet I'd put U and I together."

I wouldn't change anything. N and O are exactly where they should be.

9) "Did we have lessons together? I could have sworn we had Chemistry."

I'm thinking it was History. Yeah, definitely History. Which you are now.

10) "Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again?"

Walk by again. But this time, don't stop.

I hope you manage to use your newly found comebacks some time soon! OWN IT.

As this post was a collaboration with 'Love, Relationships & Dating', and we all hate those cringey chat up lines from hell...why not check out these dating sites listed below?

Hopefully there's people out there that have a little more chat about them!
Have you ever had any of these chat up lines used on you? What was your reply?
Let me know in the comments!

5 ways to stay active (when you're not so active)

Oh hi again.
It's me.
Your old blogging pal who is pretty excited about today's blog post.

It's something a lil' different to my usual content, as I hardly ever write about fitness or health. But this is why I'm looking forward to sharing it with you and trying something completely new!

Now I'm not going to pretend I'm not sat here in front of my laptop, Netflix playing in the background, wrapped up in my quilt, and munching on my leftover pieces of Toblerone that just fit so perfectly into my mouth. (*drools*)

I actually can be active! ...sometimes

So this is why I'm collaborating with Origym to bring you 5 ways to stay active (when you're not so active.)

TAKE IT FROM ME, I have an A* in being lazy, but being active can actually be fun and doesn't always have to be sneakily wiping sweat from your forehead after doing 3 seconds on the treadmill. D'ya feel me?

So, here we go!

1) Go for relaxing walks.

Walking is such a simple way to stay active. Whether that's taking your camera out to snap up a few insta worthy pics, taking your dog for a walk, or just admiring the pretty scenery around you. I'm definitely going to start trying to go on at least one nice long walk a week. LET'S DO THIS.

2) Make a tasty smoothie to kick start your day.

I'm not much of a breakfast gal. The thought of eating in the morning (or just mornings in general) make me feel nauseous. Eugh. No thank YOU. However, sipping on a smoothie on my journey to work is something I can definitely cope with. Having breakfast (even in a drink form) can make you feel so much more prepared for the day, meaning you can do so much more without feeling exhausted all of the time. YAY TO FRUIT SMOOTHIES WITH EXTRA ICE CREAM PLEASE.

3) Visit somewhere new.

Travel around! Even if it's just hopping on a bus into the next village along from you. Go and explore. Visit some new shops. Grab a hot chocolate in a near by cafe. Doing these little things can make a huge difference to your day and make you feel so much more active, without ACTUALLY doing exercise. (ha)

4) Yoga!

Now I don't regularly do yoga. But when I have done it in the past, it makes me feel like a sassy independent gal who only has time for herself. YASSSS.
It doesn't feel like you're doing much exercise at the time, but the next day you feel the effects and it's such a satisfying feeling! For your body, and your brain!

5) Go to a fitness class or try out a new course.

I've been to a few salsa dancing classes before and absolutely LOVED them. I don't know why I don't do them more often. Maybe I should add that onto my to do list. Origym do some fab courses too. Their website is super easy to navigate so go and check it out! They offer personal trainer courses, gym instructor courses, online courses...the lot! Having an end goal to something makes staying active so much more worthwhile! It's always great to have something to motivate you and aim for. If you haven't already, check out their website here

Let me know what you think of my 5 ways to stay active! Do you have any more ideas for me that I've missed? Let me know in the comments below!

Sonic Chic - URBAN

Hello lovelies.

One of the things I love about being a blogger is receiving products that I'd never really think to pick up before. Y' something simple, but also still super cool and trendy.

Just like this toothbrush from Sonic Chic!

Toothbrushes are one of those every day essentials that you constantly renew. But I've never actually had a cool one...I've always just had a standard, boring toothbrush.
Let's think of it this way...

You're supposed to renew your toothbrush every couple of months. So that's 6 toothbrushes a year. So that's 126 toothbrushes in my life time...and not one of them has been exciting. One hundred and twenty six boring toothbrushes. NUH - UH HONEY.

Luckily, this has now changed! Sonic Chic have sorted me for my trip to Australia by sending me this fabulous travel toothbrush. It's super pretty and just so god damn convenient. The toothbrushes are electronic, battery powered, and some of them you can even charge with a USB charger! The patterns on them are so so cute so they look perfect sitting in your travel bag.

Blimey, I'll be sat on the aeroplane itching to have the service station break so I can have a cheeky teeth brushing sesh in the toilets. WHAT HAS MY LIFE BECOME? WHY AM I SO EXCITED ABOUT A TOOTHBRUSH?

Sonic Chic kindly sent me the "Twister" patterned toothbrush which I just LOVE. It's so me. You can purchase this product from a number of places!

Boots - £20 - here

Amazon - £19.53 - here

Argos - £19.99 - here

Look Fantasic - (Offer price) - £12.00, normally £19.99 - here

After using the toothbrush and absolutely loving it (it's 10x better than my normal toothbrushes) and knowing how pretty it'll look on my travels, I really do recommend this product. You can choose which pattern suits you the most and there's nothing better than making every day life that little bit more exciting!

What do you think of these toothbrushes? Are there any patterns that take your fancy? Let me know in the comments below!

Blogging Tips For Beginners

I've been blogging for a year now, and although I'm still nowhere near the place I want to be within the blogging world...I've definitely learnt a few tricks and tips here and there.

So grab your notebooks ladies and gents, I'm going to give you the best god damn tips that you EVER DID SEE.

First of all, Twitter Chats are one of the most AMAZING things for bloggers. It allows you to connect with so many bloggers from around the world. Getting involved in the blogging community makes such a big impact on your blog. The blogging community is so supportive of each other, so encouraging and just all round FABULOUS people.

Here is a super helpful schedule made by the lovely @bellamomentoX

With blogging, consistency is key. Now, believe me, this is much easier said than done. Creating content, scheduling posts, publishing posts, staying active on social media, taking photographs, taking videos AND balancing in the rest of life's extremely difficult. But it's so so worth it. When it comes to blogging, you really do get what you put in. If you put in the hard work, the results will be noticeable (and great)!

Social media plays a large role in the life of blogging. In my opinion, there's nothing worse than seeing a blogger with a different name for each different social media account. If you sync all of your accounts, you and the brand you have created for yourself will be much more recognisable, relatable, and much easier to find!

Facebook has so many different groups and pages for bloggers. My favourite one is UK Blogger Opportunities. It is filled with amazing opportunities and is really accessible. I've managed to work with quite a few brands by finding them through that group. If you're like me and from Yorkshire, then this Yorkshire Bloggers group will be fab for you too! They post about a lot of events that are going on in the area which is always really good fun. The best thing to do is just get ya stalk on and search for different blogging groups and GET JOINING THEM. You'll thank me later.

Going to blogging events is a really good way to meet new people, connect with different brands and have a FLIPPIN' GOOD TIME. It took me a while to pluck up the courage to go to a blogging event, but I finally did the other week. I went to the launch night of a new restaurant, and I had so much fun that I had no idea why I hadn't gone to one before!

When I first started blogging I had no idea how people got to work with brands, get sent products to review, or get the honour to create sponsored posts. So I took it on myself to email brands first. Reaching out is such a good way to get yourself known. Pitch yourself in the email, send them all of your links, tell them that you'd love to write for them...and they might just say yes! The worst that can happen is that they ignore your email, so PFFFFT on them. *sassy hair flick*

Now this tip is one that quite a lot of bloggers struggle with. Often people like to keep it on the down low, or are too scared to tell the people they know. This is totally okay and understandable, but from my personal experience...telling people about your blog is one of the best things you can do! PEOPLE ACTUALLY READ IT. AND TALK TO YOU ABOUT IT. AND...LIKE IT! (!!!!)
It's a massive relief to know that the people you care about enjoy reading your blog, and they're so supportive too! I really recommend getting your blog out there. There's nothing to be ashamed of, DO YOU and be proud!

Do you have any more blogging tips for beginners that I might have forgotten about? Let me know in the comments!
